Wood
Sawn timber is sawn wood from two or more sides. Sawn timber is classified according to tree species and quality grades. This allows you to always find the right material for your needs.
Because wood is a natural material, its appearance and physical properties are often different. Its properties depend on the tree species and growing conditions. Usually pine and spruce (i.e. conifer trees) are used for building purposes, as conifers are more resistant to humid environments. The properties of spruce and pine are quite similar and the loads allowed are quite same. At 18% relative humidity, pine wood has an average specific weight of 490 kg/ m3 and spruce 460 kg/m3. The pine tree differs from the light-colored spruce with its reddish center and yellowish exterior. Sawn timber and planing materials from hardwood (aspen, alder, birch, etc.) are generally used in interior decoration.
Sawn timber is generally produced using standard cross-sections that have evolved over time based on custom metrics and building traditions. Sawn timber is usually produced in lengths of 3.0-6.0 m with 30 cm interval. Lengths of 1.8-2.7 m and 6.2-8.0 are less common.

Planing material:
Four sides planed timber is a sawn wood that has been planed from all four sides. This kind of material is suitable for almost any kinds of building works.
High quality spruce or pine wood, which is the raw material for planed wood, has undergone careful optical inspection. The surface of industrially dried planed timbers has high quality.
Planing of wood material achieves the desired profile of wood, surface smoothness and dimensional accuracy. The humidity of planed wood should be maximum 17…19% but sometimes using timber with less than 10% humidity may be necessary.
Planed surfaces can be divided:
- Rough planed surface is flattened but may not be perfectly smooth. In rough planing, the planer blade touches most of the surface.
- Smooth planed surface is smooth and flat with no visible inaccuracies or slopes. Demand for high quality and durable frame materials has grown both in manufacturing and in the construction sector.
Impregnated wood:
The impregnation process is carried out by using autoclave, where chemicals are impregnated into timber using vacuum and pressure. The wood preservative is applied to the wood as an aqueous solution so the material is wet after impregnation.
We use the following wood preservatives to impregnate the wood:
Tanalith E is a water-based timber impregnation chemical, which contains copper compounds and organic biocides (azoles). Tanalith E does not contain arsenic or chrome. Tanalith E impregnated timber is used in places where is a moderate to high risk of occurrence of fungus and insects – basic structures in contact with land, water and concrete. Tanalith E impregnated wood is greenish. Brown impregnated wood is obtained by impregnating the wood with Tanalith E solution to which a brown dye has been added. The brown tone is not very UV resistant.
Exterior board:
The outer boards are mainly made of spruce.
We produce inner and outer lining in different widths. We make exterior boards with finely sawn (roughened) surface as well as planed surface. At the request we can also produce boards with exactly desired profile.
In addition, we now also offer lining boards made of Siberian Larch.
Terrace boards:
We make terrace boards with one-sided planing, corners rounded, impregnated with Tanalith E, impregnation class AB. Terrace boards lengths are according to stock. However, we also make different terrace boards according to the request of the customer.
Wood is an excellent building material – lightweight, flexible, and very durable. Wood is the only building material that is renewable. To keep our timber resources, we must protect it properly. Outdoor wood is threatened by a number of pests such as mold, fungi and insects. Whereas pressure treated timber is protected from any previous threats.
In addition, we now also offer patio boards made of Siberian Larch.
